Complex wheel-based robotic systems (Back)


Even though evolution has not come up with wheel-based living entities, human being has extremely benefited from wheel-based mechanism. In this research we are interested in studying complex wheel-based mobile robots for locomotion on closed surfaces. In addition, we are interested in wheel-based object manipulation. In other words, we look at wheel-based locomotion as a dual of wheel-based object manipulation. Therefore, we study a framework for exploiting this duality while examining benefits and limitations of wheel-based manipulation.
